Install / Flash Android 4.2 Jellybean on Google Nexus S I9020/I9023 [How-To]

The Android 4.2 update for Nexus S is now available to download and install on your Nexus S device. This time, due to some strange reason Samsung was not given chance to manufacture the Nexus 4. But still it is not that Google has forgotten the previous Nexus device Galaxy Nexus because it was one of the first device to get the Jelly Bean 4.2 update. What about Nexus S?, well at this moment we don’t have any information regarding when the Nexus S will get Jelly Bean Android 4.2 update. But!, today we do have something special for the Nexus S and that is not more but a custom Jelly Bean 4.2 ROM. Reading this further will guide you how you can update your Nexus S to Android 4.2 Jellybean.

However, keep this in mind that this is not an official firmware, it is an unofficial built of Jelly Bean 4.2 for your Nexus S. Before proceeding further with the tutorial keep this under notice that you will be removing all your data including contacts, SMS and even Mobile Network Setting. Therefore you must backup all your important data and stuff before walking through the steps  given below.

How to Update Samsung Nexus S to Jelly Bean 4.2
  1. Download Jelly Bean 4.2 for Nexus S , No need to download Gapps because this ROM comes with stock apps, plus, remember THIS GUIDE IS ONLY APPLICABLE ON NEXUS S.
  2. Connect your phone to your PC and copy the Jelly Bean 4.2 zip file to the root of your SD card
  3. Disconnect your phone and now boot into CWM recovery by pressing and holding Volume Up+Power Button
  4. Wipe Data/Factory Reset (this is really important step or else you might brick your Nexus S)
  5. Once done go to>>flash zip from SD card>>choose zip from sdcard and select the Jelly Bean 4.2 zip file
  6. Wait for the process to complete then go to ”+++++Go Back++++++” >”Reboot System Now
And there you have, you can now taste the delicious Jelly Bean 4.2 already on your Nexus S.
